* Resenting God's goodness in other's lives
* Ignoring God's goodness in my own life
Where Does Envy Occur?
Why Should I Avoid It?
- It causes conflict with others
- It leads to other sins
- It makes me miserable
How To Overcome Envy:
1. Resist comparing myself to others 2 Cor. 10:12-13; Galatians 6:3-5
2. Recognize my uniqueness (your S.H.A.P.E.) Psalm 139:13; Psalm 139:15
3. Rejoice in what I have Eccl. 6:9; Phil. 4:11
4. Respond in love to others 1 Cor. 13:4; Matt. 22:39; Romans 12:15
5. Refocus on pleasing God Col. 3:2; Proverbs 23:17
