Children’s Ministries
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God ... And He took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.” Mark 10:14, 16
Our desire is to reach children for Jesus Christ through quality, age-appropriate teachings and creative activities designed to build a strong spiritual foundation in the life of each child.
Your Children are in Good Hands at Easthaven:
- We love kids and strive to provide an atmosphere of learning in which the children are exposed to biblical truth so that they may know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
- The Nursery uses a sign-in and vibrating pager system to insure the security and well being of your child.
- Parents sign-in their children and each child receives an ID tag. Parents are given a matching ID tag which must be presented to pick-up your child.
- Nursery Staff wear matching shirts with the EBC Nursery Logo on them so they can be easily identified.
- All of our Nursery Staff are trained in Infant and Child CPR and Basic First Aid.
- Criminal Background checks are performed on all Nursery Staff and children’s volunteers
Nursery
6 weeks to Age 4
Our nursery provides loving care for our Son Beams (6 wks-1 yr), Creepers (1-2 yrs), and Preschoolers (3-4 yrs) Sunday morning, Wednesday night, and during many other events throughout the year. Parents can drop off little ones and worship with peace of mind. Mothers are welcomed to nurse their babies in our infant room; you will be provided with a rocking chair and privacy. Pagers are given to the parent when dropping off children in the nursery as a means of communicating that they are needed. Children five years old and older attend Sunday worship service with their family.

Children's Small Groups
Age 3 to Grade 6
Children are important people to us, and we are dedicated to partnering with you in the cultivation of the spiritual growth of your children. Children’s Small Groups (Sundays at 11:15am) are what we consider to be our foundational hour of Bible instruction for children. It is a time of exciting Bible stories and personal application of God’s Word to a child’s life. We hope ALL children will be active participants in this time of discovery and learning! We have loving, caring teachers who will be guiding your children to learn the tremendous truths about the Bible. Come join us as we partner with you to “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

AWANA
Age 3 to Grade 6
AWANA, which stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" (based on 2 Timothy 2:15), teaches children that God is real and that He loves them. The goal of AWANA is "to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him". In AWANA, children are involved in Handbook Time (one-on-one with a leader learning key Bible verses that teach children how to know and follow God), Council Time (kids and leaders gather together as a group for Bible study and a practical Bible message), and Game Time (a chance to unleash their energy while learning teamwork, sportsmanship and other character traits through their participation). AWANA is typically held on Wednesday nights September through May.

Upward Soccer
Age 4 to Grade 4 – Spring Season
Upward Sports are a great way for children to learn about teamwork, respect for authority, and sportsmanship. The sad part is all those things are being lost in today’s sporting society. With an Upward sport, these key essentials are included to create the best sporting experience for every child that participates. Each Upward Sport is designed to reveal the winner in every child. Every child plays. Every child learns. Every Child Is A Winner.™

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Completed Kinder to Grade 6
Each summer during this week-long event, children experience age-appropriate Bible stories, play fun games, create special crafts, learn great songs, have cool snacks, and much more! Normally held in July, VBS runs Sunday through Thursday evenings with “Family Night” scheduled on the last night. Check the church calendar for specific dates/times as summer approaches. Completed Grade 3 to Grade 6
Preteen camp provides an environment that encourages Christian growth in spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical development. It’s a great place for children to have fun and learn about worshiping God! Check the church calendar as we approach summer for more details (normally during the middle of July).
