All Shook Up
(Romans 13:11-14)
Romans 13: 11-14 (NIV) And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. [12] The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. [13] Let us behave decently, as in
the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. [14] Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
WAKE UP FROM SPIRITUAL APATHY! (V. 11); Mark 13:35-37 (NIV)
- Others need your witness sacrifice
- You don't want to be caught stagnant
WAKE UP TO THE TIME!
- Salvation is nearer than ever Philippians 1:3-6 (NIV)
- Faithfulness is needed more than ever Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)
CLEAN UP FROM DEEDS OF DARKNESS!
- Public sins: "orgies and drunkenness"
- Private sins: "sexual immorality and debauchery"
- Personality sins: "dissension and jealousy"
DRESS UP IN THE ARMOR OF LIGHT!
- Carefully remove opportunities to sin Luke 6:41-42 (NIV); Jude 1:22-23 (Msg)
- Be covered by the Lord Jesus Christ Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV)
